How we work & FAQs
The answers, before you have to ask.
New floors or a remodel is a considered decision, and most people have the same questions before they commit. Here's how a Francesca's project runs from free estimate to finished room — and honest answers to what homeowners ask most.
Step by step
From free estimate to finished room.
01
Free in-home estimate
It starts with a free, no-pressure visit to your home. We look at the space, talk through what you want — a new floor, a fresh kitchen or bath, refinished stairs — and get a real sense of the look and the budget you're working with. You leave the conversation with a clear, itemized quote and no obligation.
02
Pick your materials with us
We'll help you choose from the brands we trust and install every week — Hallmark, Mohawk and Impressions hardwoods, PRO Solution luxury vinyl, Arley and Happy Floors tile, and Mohawk carpet — matching the product to how the room actually gets used, not just how it looks in a showroom. Clear pricing, so you know what's included before anything is ordered.
03
Installed by our own crew
Once you're happy, our own crew takes over — demolition, prep, flooring, tile, cabinetry and finish work, all coordinated so the job runs to schedule and the site stays tidy. We don't walk away until it's done properly and you're 100% satisfied with the result.
Common questions
Frequently asked.
Do you supply the flooring, or just install it?
+
Both. We supply flooring from the brands we trust and install every week — Hallmark, Mohawk and Impressions hardwoods, PRO Solution luxury vinyl, Arley and Happy Floors tile, and Mohawk carpet — and our own crew handles the demolition, subfloor prep and installation. Buying and fitting through one shop means the product suits the room and the install is done right, with one point of contact throughout.
What does 'and More' mean — do you do full remodels?
+
Yes. We started as a flooring shop and grew into full kitchen, bathroom and stair remodeling. A kitchen remodel can include new shaker cabinets, quartz countertops, a tiled backsplash, a new undermount sink, faucet and hardware, with demolition included — and of course the flooring underneath. Because it's the same crew doing the floors and the remodel, everything is coordinated instead of split between separate trades.
Which floor is best — hardwood, luxury vinyl, tile or carpet?
+
It depends on the room and how you live. Hardwood is beautiful and long-lasting and refinishable; luxury vinyl (our PRO Solution LVP) is 100% waterproof and brilliant for kitchens, baths and busy homes with kids and pets; tile is the durable choice for bathrooms and backsplashes; and carpet brings warmth to bedrooms and stairs. We'll walk you through the honest trade-offs during your free in-home estimate and help you pick.
Can you fix water-damaged floors or replace a subfloor?
+
Yes — it's a job we do often, including after dishwasher and appliance leaks. We'll assess the damage, replace the subfloor where needed, and install your new flooring on a properly prepared base. Where it makes sense we'll also look to save you money by reusing what's still good, like existing cabinets or countertops, rather than replacing everything.
Do you refinish existing hardwood?
+
We do. If you have solid hardwood that's worn, scratched or dated, we can sand it back, make repairs and re-stain and re-seal it in the color and sheen you want — a natural matte, a warmer tone, whatever suits the room. It's a fraction of the cost and disruption of a full replacement, and a great refresh before a sale or a move-in.
How much will my project cost?
+
Flooring is generally priced by the square foot for material and installation, and remodels are quoted room by room based on the scope and the finishes you choose. The best way to get a real number is a free, no-pressure in-home estimate — we measure the space, talk through the options, and give you a clear, itemized quote up front. Customers tell us we're fair on price and stick to the number we quote.
How long does a project take?
+
It varies with the scope — a single room of new flooring is quick, while a full kitchen or bath remodel takes longer. What customers consistently mention is that our crew moves fast and is often ahead of schedule, and that we keep the site tidy and haul away all the debris at the end. We'll give you a realistic timeline with your quote.
Which areas do you serve?
+
We're based in Cary, NC and serve the Triangle — Apex, Morrisville, Raleigh, Durham, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Wake Forest, Chapel Hill and the surrounding towns. If you're just outside that, ask anyway and we'll let you know — we're happy to arrange a free in-home estimate.
Question not answered here?
Just ask — there's no such thing as a bad flooring or remodeling question, and we'd rather talk it through properly before anyone commits to anything.
